Dennis,
I'm encouraged and inspired by seeing the determination and hard work you've put in to conquering personal issues and weight loss. Nothing worthwhile is accomplished without discipline. Each week you've shown us that through discipline lives can be changed. Right now I'm applying this approach to prayer. I'm studying a book called "Live a Praying Life" by Jennifer Kennedy Dean. It is an amazing study. Having a more intimate conversation and relationship with the Lord takes discipline--which has sometimes been lacking in my life. I know it's no coincidence that ALCC is doing a series on prayer at the very same time that I knew I needed some help in this area. ALCC rocks! Dennis, we are all there for you in your spiritual and personal struggles. Let us know when we can pray for you. As your struggle with vocal chord issues continue--we'll be in prayer for you and for ALCC as it looks toward the future of worship. God bless you, your family, and your soon to be grandbaby!
In Him, Tamara

wow...a grandfather at 30?! That is impressive, haha! Dennis, it's so cool that you have been able to develop some balance in your life. I'm praying for your throat. So, did you decide on a grandpa name yet...my vote is for G-Daddy. hahaha!

Lookin' good, Dennis. Way to go with the weight loss. And thanks for sharing the secret!

I know you've struggled with some things, but "be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power".

Besides working with a vocal coach, could they boost your mic level so that you are able to sing without pushing and still feel/hear a lot of presence?

Well I was trying to e-mail Jeff B and tell him what a great job he was doing, but since I dont understand all this blog stuff I could not find him but found you. What a nice find. You always make me laugh. I love your honesty. I have/had vocal cord dysfunction. I guess you always have it but it does not bother me much anymore. I had almost a year of treatment for it. Lots of scopes YUCK. Take care of yourself we would all be sad not to hear you sing.

Dennis I know exactly where you are at. I have suffered for 30 years with PTSD and been through many hours of counseling and education. There are exercises that help, but the bottom line is to adopt a positive attitude and elilminate all of the negatives possible in your life. I love you man. We will be praying and are there for encouragement whenever you need us.
